Acupuncture
When correctly understood and applied, acupuncture can create a precise, targeted effect that helps restore the body’s natural functional balance. Rather than simply masking symptoms, our approach aims to identify and address the underlying cause of dysfunction, supporting the return of healthy, natural function.
Our acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping treatments are grounded in ancient East Asian medical protocols - methods practised, tested and refined over hundreds of years. We use gentle, shallow needling techniques that prioritise comfort without compromising treatment effectiveness.
Chinese herbal medicine
Herbal medicine is often misunderstood or prescribed without the level of precision it deserves. At Bendigo Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, we use an ancient, rule-based system grounded in centuries of clinical observation and practice.
Each herb is selected according to clear, measurable indications: a method we call the “lock and key” principle. Herbs must not only suit your individual presentation; they must also work together in precise balance within the formula.
We work with 120 organically tested, plant-based herbs and 172 unmodified classical formulas, many of which were first recorded during the Han dynasty (206 BC–220 AD). This traditional approach allows us to provide prescriptions that are structured, consistent and tailored to your body’s observable needs.
Every formula is selected with care, drawing on a system refined through generations of clinical use.
Herbal dispensary
We are among the few clinics outside China to source herbs directly from certified organic farms, rather than relying on third-party distributors or wholesalers. This direct relationship provides transparency and traceability from source to prescription, giving us confidence in the quality, safety and authenticity of every herb we use.
Each batch undergoes independent testing for heavy metals, pesticides, microbial contamination and botanical identity. Your prescription is prepared to rigorous clinical and regulatory standards, with herbs selected according to your individual diagnosis and clinical presentation—not simply matched to generalised symptoms.
We offer several delivery options to suit your preferences, including traditional raw herbs for home decoction, convenient powders and plant-based capsules.
