Dr Damien Bell began his formal studies in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at the age of 18. Since then, he has treated thousands of complex cases in Australia and abroad, guided by the belief that clinical mastery requires rigorous study, ongoing mentorship and broad international experience.

His pursuit of clinical knowledge has taken him throughout China, Japan, Europe, the United States and India. He often stayed for months at a time with renowned physicians, sometimes sleeping on their clinic floors, to observe their daily work and understand how each practitioner assessed, diagnosed and prescribed.

Throughout his career, Damien has studied with respected practitioners of East Asian medicine. His most significant influence, however, came while he was in China, when he was introduced to the writings of Japanese physician Tōdō Yoshimasu. Yoshimasu’s work profoundly shaped Damien’s clinical thinking, deepening his understanding of both the science and the art of medicine.

Today, Damien continues to refine and share the clinical methods of traditional East Asian medicine with his patients and with students committed to an evidence-informed, clinically grounded approach to Chinese medicine.
